Lakme Fashion Week’16 Round Up | Day 2
As promised, we are back with the Day 2 round up for Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016. You guys gotta keep up with us because we will be posting real quick this time. So, here are all our favorite designers from Day 2!
The Meraki Project came out with this whole range of Ikat prints, cool hues ideal for summer and tan brown gladiators fitting ideally into the look. Slit skirts, Maxi dresses and flared bottoms is what they offer you. The sustainable textile used is just another reason your summers are going to be a happy one!
We are absolutely in love with the earthy color palette used by Mrinalini for the collection. Pairing kaftans with harems, belts with saris and casual drapes made the collection all the more stunning. The fabrics used were pretty light and breathable which is going to be a necessity this summer. We absolutely loved the hair and makeup which went so well with the theme.
Gaurang gave us a breath of fresh air with his fusion of traditional prints in Spanish style. Puffed up and ruffled sleeves were the signature for this collection. From his saris to floor grazing gowns, he definitely made a statement.
Undoubtedly the Wendell Rodricks Indica Emporia collection was an ideal finale to India Textile Day 2016 and a tribute to India from a Padma Shree awardee designer who pioneered minimalism, resort and eco friendly garments. With this collection at Lakmé Fashion Week, Wendell Rodricks seals his reputation for creating an intellectual narrative to take Indian textiles forward to worldwide celebration.
11.11 showcased their collection with an interactive show. The show had a backstage kind of setup for the runway which looked like a great way of presenting the line. From the hues to the fabrics, everything fits in for a summer evening!
Deepa Gurnani show was all about drama and confidence. It had everything- the right kindof make up, hair, jewelry and models! Well-known bloggers and stylists walked for the label. Jewelry and the dramatic make up surely helped the show to stand out. We loved how she kept the clothes so minimalistic and stylish.
Coming to our looks, we wore Kanelle by Kanika Jain on the Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016. This label is perfect for someone who value style and comfort equally. We believe that it is absolutely important to be comfortable in what you wear! The brand is feminine in its own way and at the same time makes you look confident. Himanshi wore this pretty white dress with a mustard bow on the waist giving a proper definition to the dress. She paired it with white sneakers and cool glasses to complete her look. Gona went for these culottes co-ordinates which were super comfortable to live in. She wore these silver earrings by Simran Chhabra and metallic strappy sandals to go with the subtleness of the couture.
