Lakme Fashion Week’16 Round Up | Day 4

Hello Loves,

We are on our 4th Day round up for Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016. Even if we want to write about each designer, it is not really possible for us to do that. So, here you go with the favourites for the day.

Mumbai, 2nd April, 2016 – Making a stunning début at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016, Shriya Bhupal’s ‘Shriya Som’ label collection ‘Ebb and Flow’ offered a variety of fashion statements.  The collection swayed with tantalising ease as structured dresses, swirling skirts, sexy cropped tops, bandeaux capes and seductive gowns completed the formal wear story. The swaying sparkling silver fringes appeared on shoulders, yokes, capes and blouses, giving the ensembles a regal, elegant flavour.

Payal’s collections are always an intriguing mix of shapes, geometric lines, symmetry angles and asymmetry that seem to seamlessly come together. Showcasing around the swimming pool of the St Regis Hotel, her complete command over innovative garment construction was visible in the relaxed but strong and fierce silhouettes that had touches of masculine garment elements. Statement jewelry and top knots made a stunning impact on the audience.

Quo collection’s inspiration is derived from Charlie Chaplin’s life. Encompassing both humour, and the tragedies of his life – this collection was presented in an exciting color palette, vivid checkered and striped patterns and entertaining slogans reflecting maximalism. Oversized, relaxed silhouettes are key, with an emphasis on softly tailored pieces in lightweight materials.

Three by Pallavi Dhyani was a lot about soft flares and laid back dressing. The hues were around blues and greys keeping the whole collection subtle and classy. Stripes and solids worked great together in skirts, dungarees and maxis. Loose dressing is what we really need this summer and if we get it like this, who would mind!?

Actress Shraddha Kapoor took to ramp for ace fashion designer Masaba Gupta, who showcased her latest collection at the fashion week. Masaba’s remarkable collection that won brownie points from the fashion critics, was inspired by the iconic works of Matthieu Venot (ace French photographer) and Katrin Bremermann (German artist). The designer has incorporated the artists’ detail oriented art with her signature prints, staying true to her aesthetic and style.

Monisha Jaising dreamt up a delicious offering in tempting shades like black iris, white chocolate, freesia, yellow vista, blue and ultramarine green. Colour blocking played an important role in this sumptuous line-up of fashion and style. Show Stopper was the stunning Lisa Haydon who brought a vivacious energy to the ramp as she glided down in a heavy duty, all-over textured “Rockstar” gown, completely hand embroidered with multiple gold metal elements.

What we wore?
Ankita Juneja designs speaks of an elegant women who wants be prim and proper everywhere she goes. The collection is so feminine and classy with every silhouette falling right into the place. We were is love with every garment we saw at her store and finally came to this metallic duo. We all have seen jumpsuits in our daily lives but the one that Himanshi wore was something grand. The flares worked so right and made her look tall and chic. The bow detail helped in giving definition to the whole look. Skirts never seem to go wrong and the one Gona wore can never really go wrong. We paired it up with a metallic blouse which added up to the skirt and the look all together. Himanshi wore these nude strappy heels and the coin sling to complete her look. Gona went for white sneakers and clutch for a more relaxed look.
